studentA National Traineeship is designed for school and college leavers aged 16 and upwards. They have been designed by employers so this ensures that you gain the skills that employers are looking for. The qualification you will gain is a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) level 2 in one of the following:
Business Administration
Information Technology
Customer Service Accounting
The aim is that you will be employed and paid wages - Earn while you learn! An NVQ shows an employer that you are competent to perform your job to the standards that industry requires.

You will not only gain skills in your work place but also a wider ranges of skills
that will enable you to adapt to new jobs and new circumstances - these are called Key Skills and cover Communication, Application of Number, Information Technology and personal skills such as working with others and developing yourself.

A National Traineeship provides a good start that can open up a range of further opportunities. When you finish your Traineeship you may be able to move on to a Modern Apprenticeship.

Modern Apprenticeships are offered to people aged between 16 and 24.

You will be working towards gaining a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) at a level 3. These qualifications are recognised throughout industry and are equivalent to A' levels.

You have the choice of the following frameworks:

Administration Information
Technology Customer
Service Accounting

It also gives you a great opportunity to gain Key Skills that employers are really looking for, such as team working, communication, information technology and number work.


You will be in employment for at least the length of your training and often beyond, so this gives you the great opportunity of earning money whilst you are training.

The scheme will last anywhere from 18 months to three years.
